Hospice Eligibility Criteria

In order to be certified for hospice care, patients must meet the hospice eligibility requirement established by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. While no specific set of symptoms is required when qualifying for hospice, these guidelines assist Appalachian Hospice Care staff in determining if a patients condition is currently, or will soon be, appropriate for admission to hospice care.
