What we do.

Our Commitment to Quality

Founded in 1991, Appalachian Hospice Care (AHC) has been providing quality, comprehensive hospice services throughout Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike Counties in the Big Sandy Region of Eastern Kentucky for over two decades. Hospice is a special level of care and support for patients who are experiencing life-limiting illnesses.

Hospice is about living

When a disease progresses and focus shifts to pain and symptom management, hospice provides medical care, comfort care, and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families.

The goal of hospice is to help patients live as fully and comfortably as possible, while ensuring that their families have the support they need, as well. AHC aims to fulfill patients’ wishes, relieve caregivers’ stress and fears, and tailor each patient’s plan of care to meet their unique needs.

We believe it’s just as important to care for our patients’ loved ones and caregivers as it is to care for our patients, which is why we offer grief counseling, bereavement services, and spiritual care. Built on a commitment to the people of our region, AHC is a recognized leader of quality care in Kentucky year after year.

Our team focuses on an approach that comforts the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.
